Bug reports and feature requests for the BiomedGT wiki are maintained on GForge, the NCI's Web-based project management and collaboration site. This page explains how to report a bug or submit a request on GForge.

Note: Using GForge requires an account.

Requesting a GForge Account

Anyone can access the NCI project pages on GForge, but some of the site features require an account. To apply for an account, follow these steps:

  1. Access the GForge site.
  2. From any site page, click the New Account link in the upper right corner.
    The page that appears instructs you to send an e-mail to NCICB Application Support using the provided e-mail link. It also explains what information to include in the e-mail message.

Submitting a Bug Report or Feature Request

Prerequisite Task: Requesting a GForge Account

To submit a bug report or feature request, follow these steps:

  1. Access the GForge site.
  2. From any site page, click the Log In link in the upper right corner, then log in using your user name and password.
    GForge opens with three tabs displayed:
    • Home Page: Provides news, announcements, statistics, and other information.
    • My Page: Shows your assigned items, submitted items, monitored forums, monitored file modules, tasks, and projects. This is the active tab after login.
    • Project Tree: Enables you to navigate the NCICB and caBIG project tree.
  3. Click the following link, or copy and paste the URL in the browser's Address bar:
    https://gforge.nci.nih.gov/tracker/?atid=1475&group_id=174&func=browse
  4. On the Semantic Media Wiki Tracker page, click the Submit New link in the upper left group of links, just below the Tracker tab label.
  5. Complete the following form fields:
    • Importance to End User: Select from the drop-down list.
    • Assigned Release: Leave set to None if you do not know the release information.
    • Type: Select from the drop-down list.
    • Operating System: Select from the drop-down list.
    • Product: Select Semantic MediaWiki General from the list.
    • Summary: Enter a brief description of the bug or feature request.
    • Detailed description: Enter a more detailed description, including any information that might help the development team better understand your submission.
    • Check to Upload & Attach File: Check this box if you plan to include an attachment. Use the Browse button to locate and upload the attachment.
    • File description: If you included an attachment, enter a brief description in this field.
  6. Click Submit.
    Your submission now appears in the Tracker list.

Tracking Your Request

Prerequisite Task: Submitting a Bug Report or Feature Request

To monitor your bug report or feature request, follow these steps:

  1. Check the box to the left of your item(s) in the Tracker list.
  2. Click the Monitor link.

Now you will receive e-mail notifications regarding the status of your request.
