Getting Help with Wiki Markup for Writing and Editing
Note: Only BiomedGT collaborators can edit content. If you want to become a collaborator, see Registration Process for Collaborators.
The narrative content on BiomedGT wiki pages is developed using MediaWiki markup. When you click an Edit link anywhere on the wiki, an edit page opens. This page has a helpful toolbar that automates many editing tasks, but knowing at least some of the MediaWiki markup conventions can help you speed up your online writing and editing.
The following pages are good resources for learning MediaWiki markup. You can use both the basic and advanced editing pages as "cheat sheets." Links that lead to pages outside of BiomedGT are prefaced with MediaWiki Help. Those pages open in a new window or tab.
- BiomedGT Help: About the Edit Toolbar
- MediaWiki Help: Editing Basics
- MediaWiki Help: How to Edit a Page
- MediaWiki Help: General Editing Topics
- MediaWiki Help: Advanced Editing
